
Moniza Hossain is a Singaporean author of Bengali descent who writes children’s books inspired by her heritage.
Her debut picture book Street Puppy Masjid Cat has been shortlisted for the Hedwig Anuar Children’s Book Award 2026. She is also the author of the picture book Ritu in the Sun, and the middle grade novel Bad Things Happened Here. Her short stories can be found in the Lammy nominated anthology Being Ace, and the Freeman Award winning anthology The Beasts Beneath the Winds.
When she’s not busy writing, she teaches English literature and paints dragons. Moniza lives in Manchester with her husband. She is represented by Dr Uwe Stender at Triada US.
